Okay, those who want to talk about the content... here goes... some scores to treasure and some to target. Here's the chronological list of the scores that recently took seb from #5 to #1 ranking.
A good start.
An easy number one. Takes points (relatively speaking) off Wil and asarkila.
Why not just take 300 points off ari - and without the reps.
Hehe... my scores took over 8000 games. Yours took less than half an hour.
Dud level, dud score... hang on! Okay, 1 day and 4 minutes. I was thinking you got this in 4 minutes for a sec.
Well done. Look at the recording, repeat... and show us your ticks.
Arhhh. Now there's a rare level. One I haven't really played. Hmmm, is 1000 points possible?
A nice level.
Good to see it took a little while!
Whatever.
Nice and easy.
Ouch. I just don't have the reflexes.
Nothing to see here - move along.
Some ticks here or there. Wil and ari feel ripped off!
Completely rude - a clear number one even though it's clear that this was not the best game. The only game to include the ticks!
Next level. One for even more improvement!
Good enough.
So, where's that final 1000 pointer!
Join the club.
A massive score. Well done.
Brilliant - I thought my path was optimal. I was wrong.
Wow! I have no idea how you did this.
Roll that dice!
Number 65 in the free high scores.
Fast.
..
No wonder you hate the luck based levels. I would if I'd played as hard core for several weeks.
One still to be mastered.
..
..
A long way off top, but still 6th!
Optimal. I think.
Don't worry, I have no idea either.
Phil would like his ticks now :(
A nice quick bash of a level.
Good score for 25 minutes after dark. (I actually wrote this when my script hd the time at 00:25 - bad editor macros.... probably should have used the database rather than saving the results from searching the high scores).
Time to sleep on another 1000 pointer.
Fresh - and a clear number one. There might be a lesson there!
You're right, ari does have quite a few lasting number one scores.
Wow! I thought the optimal score had been reached here.
Brilliant. You worked hard here, but this is a killer score. I would need to completely rework my method to gain that much time. Good to see the score was improved on after getting the clear number one.
A thoughtful slaying. Again, not settling with a clear number one but going for a lasting score
It's 4:14am in France. Feeling addicted yet? Okay, so you're looking to sneak to number one and am getting afraid that if you don't move now others may block the door.
Wow, 300 points for such an easy effort. One of a few fragile scores.
Sleep was probably needed.
One to come back to when needed.
Like old times!
At least you left me with some high scores.
Roll it again.
The level of the moment. Maybe it started it all - well this run.
Lucky last. Time to check the ticket in and see how we did!
And the answer is number one in the rankings. I''d better run now. Feel free to add comments about the high scores. I will update the hall of fame but obviously not add too many entries. One big one is all that's needed!
I'm curious to see what happens on the next ticket. I'm imagining another level set will become carnage!
No one's completed Reef. No one other than me has got through the currently available Jungle levels. |

Wow, you really made a deep analysis of these scores. Do I deserve such a long post ?.
I consider, all in all, that my ranking will last no longer than when other top 5 people will claim extra time ticks on several levels. And we have ruben and Thozz doing quite well also these
days, so it might be a short time .
Let me just comment on a few levels:

A nice level.

You guys went very fast on this one...

I just don't understand how you play this fast... hmmm, let me see... maybe there's a way,
this reminds me of some other level - I'll see later. I don't give up!

Still it can be improved. I didn't work a lot on this one. Just tried a new method, and bingo. I would'n be surprised to see scores in the 1500s reached there...

I think mine is optimal. I might be wrong also

It took me ages to understand how to improve there. But how could I still go faster
Quote (Wil): |
Optimal. I think.
|
I think too... I was puzzled with this extra tick. And sort of found the answer while dreaming.
Did anyone say addicted? Anyway, I have 2 quite different methods there, with the exact
same result!

Wow! I thought the optimal score had been reached here.

Nope, and you can still improve mine by 2 or 3 ticks...

I'm proud of this one, and quite surprised to improve that much a "classical" level's top.
Quite lucky to discover a nice method, I took a little longer to improve

ruben had set pressure first !

This is tempting... I'll try Jungle first I think. Maybe a way to get 20000 combined points?

Good choice of levels to respond to. I've been beaten many times on level 1 but liked the level and the challenge to improve. I'd be pissed off if you'd got it so easily. I was also lost with level 5 and it took me a long time to crack the 1000 points here, as you can see I'm 15 points behind but glad to have the 1000 pointer. To be honest I haven't played level 70 serious but know it's there.
Pity the fun is at the end of the level.
Level 7 - phh.
Level 2 ... in your sleep ...playing so hard core over a short time as you did is a good way to 'double rank' and you tend to find methods out in your sleep, while running, driving, or whatever. Still, it's a good trick. I have this bizzare idea that one day the players will get together and find we have different methods on this level and this score is not optimal... maybe I'm sleeping at the time.
I'll need a rethink on 31. Obviously I'm going the wrong way.
33 scares me. I think you have this one for good. That type of method is hard to find. Well done.
Thank Thoz for the ball rolling there. Unfortunately he sent me the recording and I looked without thinking. I'm pretty sure the method was the same as my early methods... back then I tended to favour repeatable scores rather than luck based ones. Now days you need to optimised and assume luck to some level. I can also improve here. Thozz's score/game had numerous flaws as he knows. What's amazing is being able to get a clear number 1 in Homelands by a new method which can be improved on significantly. Still, you now have 33.
You are number one. Ticks are too bad and such is life. If others want the scores they need to get them. Still, Phil would be turning in his grave.
I played with Keith (PKWA) last night and we managed to get through level 28 of Jungle. We were pretty happy. They are worthy levels, but hard. Good luck, but keep the balance ... there's no time rush and plenty of good things to do in life including playing bd4
