I can't use G to speed up things and even the normal playing speed is somewhat slower than it ought to be. It isn't memory because every other applications works just fine while I'm playing this level. Processor, display card ? I had this same thing with that other level 80 from some levelset that had a fish in it. My suggestion is to use the 1-4 keys to make it chunkier while you fast forward, etc. It's smoother under Linux but as for the speed, it's just a case of basic draws (blits) of squares onto the screen, nothing fancy.
