I'm just throwing this idea in the air so that we can decide weither it's useful or useless.

I was playing one of the new levels and calculating the maximum points available in theory. When I was writing them down I thought "What a great idea it would be if I could write these down within the game". This way I could read the info later on so I wouldn't have to do the calculating again when I come back to the level say a year from now.

In practise this would mean that within the game I would press a button and an info window would come up and I could write down info of the level that I would find useful, for example, the points that each objects is worth, some tactics/methods I have tried and the ones that seem to work, yam killing order etc. I think that a big part of bd4 highscore making is working out what points each object is worth and I don't think an object scoring system should ever be automatic. I mean that bd4 client shouldn't tell the player each objects worth as it does with remaining diamonds etc. This should be left to the player and the "level info" -feature would enable the player to write down these important facts.

As a developer this would propably mean that a notes-directory would be created under bd4 home and in that dir there would be a dir for each levelset and in those the actual info files.

Does anyone else think this would be useful ?

Come to think of it, how about saving the players best effort automatically somewhere too which could be played back (in another bd4 clientwindow) via the client by pushing some keyboard shortcut ?

I think that it would be a good idea for us to be able to save our best effort. For those of us who have no sense of figuring out how to calculate the points, this might give us some insight on the things that generated more points whether we realized it or not. We'd be able to pose a *ahem* challenge to all you high ranking people. Also, being able to write in notes about a level that we are stuck on is an equally good idea. There are sometimes I do levels in other levelsets to avoid doing a level that I'm stuck on because I have no idea what else to do yet. Then when I do attempt it again, I must be making the same mistakes that I did before. Being able to write down my own notes would be extremely useful I think. BTW: I'm really enjoying the new level sets. My brother and I have started doing them on our teamwork player as well which is a lot of fun. There's nothing more funny when you yell to the person next to you "BOMB" and then they aren't fast enough to move out from under it! Jagtress. :
