Well, it seems to me that Reef level 79 is not particularly easy. Even not particularly moderate (like in the description of the level set). I can't imagine how to get 666 gems in such a crazy level and such a short time.
I would like to demonstrate much respect to asarkila, who solved that level in only 3 tries.
But level 80 seems to be not much easier.

Fair comment, but level 80 is not very easy either and it seemed even more evil to make level 79 so much easier than 80.... I'm playing 80 at the moment as the free high scores show. That is truly.. : : :

Well, I noticed that. That's why I thought level 80 is much harder without ever having seen or even played the level.
I suppose my name is listed several times in the free high scores of level 79, and this number will increase furthermore.

Well, have a quick look at asarkila's scores on level 43 (jungle). I glance at the games played and hope he gets through, but it's a very tough level .... in fact I believe Wil N Wil (teamwork) is stuck there. As for me, I've managed the Jungle road so far and figure the hardest level left for me is Reef 80 (no disrespect to Mountains, but at least Mountains are based more on method than chaos).

Level 80 Reef is pretty much a Jungle level that's a little harder than the Jungle 40s, but not that much... and has much method to it (but still much luck). I now have 5 scores over 1000 and have come within 50 gems (of 1500) of getting enough - it's only a matter of time. And it's a fun level.

Well time to give ti a couple of goes... but after the Christmas party there's not much chance.... but I'll see how drunk I really am before heading on later.

I have to confess that Jungle level 16 is hard enough for me. : Maybe I'll try that one again later (like Forest level 42, or Homelands level 80 or Fruity level 80). Still enough work for me to be done in several levelsets.
First of all have fun at your Christmas party. But each time you order some alcoholic drinks you should think about your reaction times in BD4. :

yep, 43 is hard and I have come pretty close but not there yet. I think I may have the patience to keep trying since it is not such a bad level. The time makes it difficult.
I still haven't figured out a decent method (if there is one), seems that slowly growing slime maps always require a touch of luck especially since this map has so little time to do the completion. If the slime doesn't grow in the beginning, then it's pretty much over.
Wil, I was just wondering if it is an illusion or could it be possible that on my workcomp, which is much faster than the one i have at home, the slime grows faster ? Does the random slime growing algorithm require cpu time or something that in my homecomp goes to moving the million bugs in that level ? Propably an illusion.

Your imagination... everything is deterministic (although some random stuff is based on the player input), hence consistent recorded games and reliable playbacks given the correct seed. As I implied before good luck with this level... it's hard and there are probably numerous methods but given the time constraints it comes down to a littl luck (obviously you can optimise this by better methods). I may have a bash with Wil N Wil soon but I do remember giving it a mis last time (at the time level 44 teamwork had not been made).

Time to get back to drinking, socialising, etc.... I just couldn't resist checking the recent games from this machine here in this house.
