I've pretty much finalised the new release and since I have a laptop with an emulated Windows on it it's time to make a full release

The new features and changes follow

Quote:

Forest levels 15 and 55 swapped - this will allow people to get through the new level 15 and play up to level 55

F3 key shows level score - this will show the last game score along with the best score on this level since you changed to it. It's pretty simple but useful.

Added 'w' key for teamwork swap - Swaps the controls for teamwork players.

*Removed ticket question - the start up question was annoying and has been removed. To play offline you simply use the script (.bd4 file).

*Made screen higher - made the screen a little higher to handle Windows XP which has bigger title bars and doesn't tell "old" programs.

*Changed the player load menus - they now have a little more information and keep track of user name and passwords.

*Added a change levelset button - once your player is loaded this is a short cut to change level sets. If it fails to do so it will return to the load player menu.

*Fixed exit crash bug - As reported by asarkila and experienced by PKWA if you exit while fast forwarding it will usually crash. I've fixed this in two ways, (1) getting rid of the congratulations message and (2) turning fast forward off if a message is going to be displayed.

*Fixed game log bug - In the last Windows version it stopped logging games once a game had been played back. There was no feedback other than auto recordings were not created. A really bad bug. Fixed now.

Fixed complete level 80 on ticket bug - Previously it advanced the player to level 81 and on reloading the player indicated that the ticket was invalid meaning you had to check it in before playing again. Fixed for all versions.

The (*) indicate that it only applied to the Windows version (PC-X).

If you get in really quickly with an easy request I may be able to include it, otherwise that's it. The new version will be out tomorrow since I'm too tired to reinstall my "Windows Installer" and create debian packages.

Paul (Wil), noticed a bug in the game, time only gives a maximum of 4 on every level, which is a problem if you are chasing scores : :

Thanks Keith. Yep, I managed to comment out the lines that worked out the exit score. I have no idea why. Bug fixed and re-released without version number change. Only 4 people had downloaded it with only one of them an issue... but I've emailed them so let it be.... :

Version 4.09 (and 7.09) released. Two bug fixes (well, one bug and one "feature"). Thanks to byron for the feedback on the ticket script issue. As for some random string being added onto the end of the F4 display making the game somewhat unstable... I have no idea. Anyway, 4.09/7.09 is out but pretty much the same as x.08.

It's a keyboard thing. If you hold those keys down and press 'p' you WILL NOT get the 'p' event due to the siring of the keyboard. It does suck. I believe 'l' will go right, as will the numeric keypad. Try these and it should work. The only "key supression" in the game is that it will not pause two ticks in a row (to stop people from playing like chess.... I'lll go up one square, think a bit... now right, etc) since it makes "impossible" reaction times possible. Tell me how it went...

I've used numpad for this as I said earlier and it works fine. Only problem with that is that the +-key is so near. If you accidentally press it it changes the level to the next one if possible. I've lost a few good runs because of this.
