Hi Wil, I had been thinking about this for a while, but trying to make it fair and still be backwards compatible with all the other scores all ready here. Is it possible to add back in the one step pause so you can play like this but add a time penalty so for each pause use you get a time penalty of one added. so for those that don't use the pause key and get the same score and time, they would be higher ranked, but if a one step movement game has a higher score or faster time, it would be higher. It would need an extra score field in the tables, and I know you can count the pauses in a game.... It sounds fair to me, but then i am a little biased to this way of playing.....anybody else thinks it would be fair..... Also this would give newer people the opportunity to practice a move, before perfecting it live......it would also show those who use this feature at all as any game that used the pause key once would show up.... And can it scan back over the scores that are in to pick up the pause keys in them....that would be fantastic if it did....even if you did this first before putting the functionality back into the game....... Look forward to your ideas..... one stpeer from way back...Ian aka DREAM

I see the use of pause key to be a skill in bd4 that requires a lot of practise. It's existance doesn't guarantee you anything and it's available for everyone
Large number of levels require a good method first and execution second. If pause is removed or penalized then it only adds to the frustration of trying to execute your method perfectly. Is this where we want to go? I say no, but this is only my opinion.

just to clarify the whole penalty thing, i didnt mean it as it actually penalizes your score or time, the game scores and times would remain the same wether you used the pause key or not, the penalty would be a separate component of the scoring system, it would just show a count of pauses used. to break the scores down even more. and if you have less pauses and equal score and time you rank higher. This way people could perfect the moves first then the trick of doing it live second. It would separate out the robots from the humans....lol...

Technically yes.....but only if you choose to use that method, if you play without using the pause key......its as if it were not there......so technically it only penalizes you if you use the pause key.........I think it would make way for new methods and tricks myself.........
